hello 2006!

25 hours left of 2005! and i shall be spending the next 10 in bed ... just got back from our road trip through virginia - horse and wine country ... we went to jamestown where capt john smith first set foot on this continent and met pocahontas ... had a huge dose of history in williamsburg and yorktown ... visited thomas jefferson's estate at monticello in charlottesville and UVA both of which he designed ... met some new friends - this is bailey who belongs to orquida the owner of the b&b we stayed at in afton - a mountain town that's 'dotted' with wineries (i was designated map reader afterall) ... one of the highlights was visting the thomas road baptist church and liberty university of jerry falwell notoriety (no, really! - we've joked so much abt it that it was hard to believe we were actually there)... anyways. we ddn't stop very long in this town with its unfortunate sounding name (lynchburg!) ... sang 'country road' more than a couple of times even though it was pointed out that we were on the other side of the blue ridge mountains from john denver ... still, they did bring us home ... and so, the unpacking's done but wine not drunk yet - that shall wait for tomorrow.
