welcome spring!

in the midst of some spring cleaning now. going through stuff so that we can purge what we don't need, store up the woolens and bring out the lighter clothes!

i'm not sure how, but it did ... spring just happened. it was bitter cold for what seemed like forever, and then it warmed up quickly, suddenly almost. the trees, which were bare last week are now budding white tips. gotta get some pics soon because already i see the green leaf shoots emerging.

spring officially began on march 20. it was a gloriously beautiful day. we spent most of the morning drinking tea (me) and coffee (okm) and reading on the patio of our favorite brunch spot - fosters ... my new book - the other half of the yellow sun - is set in the post independence period of nigeria. but more later, gotta get back to that spring cleaning. in the meantime, here are some 'visuals' from the weekend. ...

up early on sunday to give holly and dave a ride to the 
inaugural american tobacco marathon


holly and medal - she did the 1/2 marathon
in 2.02, dave finished in 1.38
