Drive Times

One of the things we like about Durham is that everything is so conveniently located. For example, this morning we drove to the Summit to pick up pineapple cookies from Florence, then drove to the Cosmic Cantina for some burritos. We're going to see the matinee performance of a play - The Great Game by D. Tucker Smith this afternoon and still had time to come home to blog, shower, etc. after lunch.

It's 12.30 now, it was 10.30 when we got out of bed this morning ... ! I'm still pretty amazed at how much or rather how little time we spend driving between places here in Durham. Nevertheless, this is not typical as there are many people I know who prefer to live farther away from the city. Some people at my office have up to 1.5 hrs commute time each day whereas it takes about 2 minutes for me to get to work.

Got up LATE late this morning as we spent 3hrs in the ER Waiting Room of REX hospital last night. Thank God all is well now and my friend is resting at home. We were walking towards a new restaurant Jibarra which has been receiving rave reviews when my friend experienced a sudden surge of intense pain in her rib - she'd been coughing for the last month - and thought she heard a crack. As she wasn't able to stand or breathe properly we quickly got back in the car and drove to the nearest hospital which was about 10mins away. Traffic was very smooth even on a Saturday night.
