i've become a ... runner

breakfasting on cinnamon toast and hibiscus t.

i broke the 10K barrier yesterday - ran 7miles (approx 12km). have to say that i was pretty spent at the end of it all. gotta try and pace myself better ... which is why i need to go and get a running watch soon. 7 miles is not so shabby - but it does seem an awful long way to go before i reach the 13.1miles/21K half marathon mark. i plan to add 1 mile/week to my long runs so at the rate i'm going i should be able to run the half by end february!

well, we'll see. ... have already come so far already. it's quite a miracle. :)

i wonder how marathoners (42k) and ultramarathoners (those crazy nuts who run 84K 50K and beyond) stay motivated??

the first time i ran the 5k was this past thanksgiving. prior to that i'd walk/run the trail. that morning as we were driving out to the duke course, i remember seeing a guy on a wheelchair being loaded into an accessible van. it was like an epiphany. i realized how blessed i am that i can run. and so i did. :D

post run dinner: black bean, spinach and sweet potato casserole with cilantro salsa.
